Xu Zhonglin met with guests from New Zealand
On the morning of December 18, Simon Appleton, Consultant of International Relations from the Eastern Bay of Plenty Region paid a visit for potential China-New Zealand educational cooperation. Wang Jun, External Communication Officer of Jiangxi People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, together with Fu Yulei, deputy director of the Xinyu Municipal Government Office, accompanied the delegation. The deputy secretary of the Party Committee and president Xu Zhonglin met with the guests from New Zealand at the parlor of the Administration Center.
Xu Zhonglin welcomed Simon Appleton’s visit. He introduced the advantages and characteristics, international cooperation and exchanges of Xinyu University. He noted Xinyu University has always highlighted the internationalization of higher education, adhered to the policy of opening and fruitfully experienced in training applied talents with world-minded vision and global perspectives. He stressed that higher education in New Zealand differentiated from what were of Jiangxi Province, the University hoped to cooperate with universities and other educational institutions within and beyond the Eastern Bay of Plenty Region upon the efforts of Jiangxi People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.
Simon Appleton expressed his thanks to the warm welcome by Xinyu University. He briefed the relations of Jiangxi Province and the Eastern Bay of Plenty Region, the friendship blossomed with cultural exchanges and educational cooperations in the past five years. He stated that he would effort to bridge a close relation between Xinyu University and educational institutions in the Eastern Bay of the Plenty Region. Thus, both sides would learn from each other, and strengthen the friendship in future.
Representatives of the Foreign Affairs Office of the Xinyu Municipal Government, the External Cooperation and Exchange Center of Xinyu University attended the meeting.
